William's Daughters, comprised of Kathy Moser (New Jersey) and Caitlin Cannon (Brooklyn, NY) began in 2009 when the two met in line for barbeque at the Rocky Mountain Song School in Lyons, Colorado. After making their debut as part of Honky Tonk Angels in NYC, William's Daughters have been performing their country-tinged folk-a-billy across the nation ever since.
Kathy Moser has been working as a songwriter, performer, teacher and social artist to bring positive change to the world through music for over 20 years. She has appeared at well-known folk venues such as Club Passim, Uncle Calvins and Godfrey Daniels, as well as colleges, churches, coffeehouses, prisons and benefits too numerous to mention! Known for her poetic lyrics, driving guitar style and goofy stage presence, her songs confront a variety of topics ranging from world peace to lawn mowers, dysfunctional families to shopping malls, and drug addiction to the wisdom of trading in your car for a horse. With four solo CDs to her credit, she is excited to add the new William's Daughters album to her Discography.
Alabama/Colorado native Caitlin Cannon is an intriguing writer whose songs take unexpected musical twists. After receiving a BFA in Theatre, Dance and Music from Stephens College in Columbia, MO, she moved to New York to continue her acting pursuits and studies. There she began writing original music and performing in downtown venues as part of NYC’s “country noir” project The Shambels. Presently, alongside Kathy Moser she has found William's Daughters to be the perfect vehicle to showcase her mostly thoughtful country-rock ditties which explore introspective concepts carried by inexplicably sophisticated, chirpy melodies. Her haunting vocals compare to no one else.
A study in contrast, this duo offers concerts, musical presentations, and song writing workshops that can be tailored to fit your needs.
